What does joining Clay mean?
Joining Clay means being assigned a dedicated team focused on your long-term health. We look at the entire system, not just one element to provide a better path forward. We start by understanding your baseline today through our Core Assessment to create a personalized plan for a healthier tomorrow. Upon completed your assessment you will have an option to sign-up as Core Member. This membership avails your continuous access to your Clay Care team month in and month out. This team will work collaboratively on your health action plan to guide you toward optimal health and peak performance.
What happens when I become a Clay Member?
Becoming a Clay Member begins with our Core Assessment and continues with ongoing care delivered by your dedicated Clay Care Team. Enjoy a variety of benefits with your membership detailed more on our Core Experience page.
What is the Core Assessment?
The Core Assessment is a comprehensive health evaluation that includes an advanced blood panel and body composition assessment to understand how your body is performing today. You’ll then spend time 1:1 with a Clay medical provider for a detailed review of your results, followed by a session with a Clay health coach to create a personalized roadmap for improving your health span and reaching your health goals.
Learn more about the Core Assessment and what it entails.
Why is the Core Assessment the first step in Clay membership?
Joining Clay starts with an assessment to help us understand your baseline health and create a personalized health program tailored to your unique goals. By starting with a data-informed view, we work with you to build a bridge to better health. Many of our clients suggest the Clay approach is reminiscent of functional medicine.
How is a Core Assessment different from my annual physical?
A Core Assessment goes beyond a typical annual physical by providing a comprehensive look at your overall health. We evaluate over 50 biomarkers (typical physicals look at less than 20) to provide us insights into how your metabolism, cardiovascular health, immunity, nutrition and hormones are impacting you today. We couple that with an information about your body composition, health history and personal goals to help you understand what changes could look like to improve your markers. Routine physicals typically focus on identification of disease vs. building a plan for improved health.
Who reviews the results of my Core Assessment?
Your results will be reviewed by a Clay medical provider, who will walk you through a detailed review of the findings and help create a personalized plan for your health journey.
How frequently should I complete an assessment?
It all depends on the type of assessment. For some, we recommend repeating it annually, while others may require more frequent follow-ups based on your progress, personal goals, and changes in your health journey. It is important to remember that different phases of life may call for different frequency of assessments. Your Clay Guide will work with you to determine the most appropriate schedule based on your personal goals and interests.
I recently had my blood drawn, can you use those results?
If your blood was drawn within the last 30 days, we’d be happy to review it. However, our panels are typically more comprehensive, allowing us to gather the full picture needed to create your personalized health plan so a complete panel will likely be required.
Where can I get my blood drawn?
Clay partners with a variety of labs to support completion of a blood draw. During your checkout you will have an option to select your preferred approach to completing your draw. Options include Clay facilities, Quest Diagnostics labs, Vibrant labs or even through at-home service for added convenience. Your Clay Guide can help coordinate the right option for you.
How long will it take to receive assessment results?
Most blood analysis take about two weeks to fully return. Shortly after your blood draw is scheduled a Clay Guide will work with you to schedule a review with a Clay medical provider to begin defining your health roadmap.
What biomarkers are included in the blood panel portion of the Core Assessment?
Clay’s Core Assessment includes an advanced blood panel and body composition assessment to establish a comprehensive baseline of your health. We analyze key biomarkers related to metabolic health, inflammation, cardiovascular function, hormones, and more. For those looking for deeper insights, we offer an additional 50+ biomarkers that provide an even more detailed picture of your body’s performance. These advanced markers help identify underlying imbalances, optimize health strategies, and guide personalized care plans tailored to your goals. For specific markers, please contact a Clay Guide.
Can I get a health assessment + blood panel without joining Clay?
Yes. Assessments are available as standalone services and continue with an option to join Clay as a recurring member. Becoming a member allows us to continue caring for you based on your Core Assessment and work together to improve your numbers month in and month out.
